Robert Soza, Drilling and Completions Manager

Mr. Soza graduated from the University of Texas El Paso in 1979.  He began his career with Exxon Co USA in 1980 as a Production Engineer in West Texas and subsequently as a Drilling Engineer with assignments in the Rockies and California.  In 1997 he became the Drilling Engineering Advisor for Burlington Resources where he developed well designs for West Texas, Oklahoma and Rockies.  In 2008 he joined EOG Resources as Drilling Engineering Advisor for horizontal drilling programs in West Texas.  Mr. Soza joins Bold Energy III in 2013 with a wealth of horizontal drilling and completion expertise.  He is a partner in Bold Energy III.


Alvin Barney Thompson, Drilling Superintendent

Mr. Thompson has been in the Oil and Gas Industry for 42 years for both domestic and international assignments.  He spent 21 years with Parker Drilling Company and then formed his own consulting company, B. Thompson Consulting which he continued for 15 years.  Mr. Thompson served as Drilling Superintendent for EOG Resources in the Permian Basin for 5 years.  Mr. Thompson joined Bold Energy III as the Drilling Superintendent and as a partner in 2013.



Brianna Bertelson, Completions Engineer

Brianna Bertelson graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural engineering with an emphasis in mechanical systems. While attending UW Brianna interned for Whiting Oil and Gas for three summers as a field engineering intern as well as various other projects with them. After graduating in 2011, Brianna accepted a job with Cameron International’s Surface System Division in the Sales and Marketing Training Program. Her first position in Vernal, UT was a Field Service Technician where she learned how to build, test, refurbish, and set Cameron wellhead and fracturing equipment in the field. Brianna was one of the first woman to successfully complete the field portion within Cameron. She was then transferred to Minot, ND where she was an Inventory Planner. She worked with the sales team, management, and HQ engineers on customizing multiple drilling systems for various customers. She coordinated all wellhead, drilling equipment, manifolds, frac and flowback trees for various customers in the Bakken. Brianna started with Bold in February of 2014 as a Completion Engineer. 


Shannon L. Klier, Production Manager

Mr. Klier began his career in 1996 as a field engineer for Schlumberger in the Anadarko Basin.  He became District Engineer for Schlumberger’s pumping service division in Elk City, Oklahoma where he developed expertise in deep well cementing and well stimulation.  Mr. Klier joined Sierra Engineering in 1999 as a completion engineer where he focused on well completions in the Mid-Continent, East Texas, and the Permian Basin. In 2003 he became Sierra’s Project Manager for BP’s projects in the Permian Basin. Mr. Klier joined Bold Energy I as Operations Engineering Manager in 2006, and continued in this position as a partner in Bold Energy II.  He is a partner in Bold Energy III.  Mr. Klier earned a BS in Civil Engineering from University of Illinois and received his Professional Engineering registration from the State of Oklahoma in 2002.


Donny Money, Production Superintendent

Mr. Money began his career in 1980 as a Well Service Operator in Bridgeport, Texas. He held operator positions with well service companies in the Permian Basin from 1983 to 1992. Mr. Money drilled horizontal wells in the Austin Chalk for two years before returning to the Permian Basin in well service operations. In 1998 Mr. Money began supervising production operations and oversaw field and facility development for several startup companies including Falcon Creek and Sapient Energy. In 2003 he was placed in charge of Tom Brown’s (subsequently EnCana Oil & Gas) field production operations in the Bossier Sand play in Fairfield Texas. Mr. Money has a great deal of experience in well completions, facility design and construction including compression facilities, pipelines, and gas processing. Mr. Money joined Bold Energy I in 2005, and went on to become a partner in Bold Energy II.  Mr. Money continues his role as Production Superintendent and as a partner in Bold Energy III. 


Bryan Field, Production Engineering Tech

Mr. Field graduated from West Texas A&M with a BBA in Marketing in 2000. Upon graduating, he began his career as a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones Investments in St Louis, MO. In 2002 he returned to Texas with the opportunity to manage and operate a local Edward Jones office here in Midland, spending the next 4 years in Financial sales/Advisory roles. In 2006 Mr. Field left the financial world to pursue a career in Pharmaceutical sales for Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals. In 2011 Mr. Field joined the Oil and Gas industry where he was able to work for Valerus and Peak Completions, respectively.  With experience in surface equipment and cased hole completions leading him to Bold Energy in January 2014 as Production Engineering Tech.
