About Bold Energy


Joseph L. Castillo, President
Mr. Castillo began his career in 1983 as a field engineer with Dowell Schlumberger in the Anadarko Basin. He served 10 years in engineering and management positions in Oklahoma, Texas, Aberdeen, and Moscow. In 1993 Mr. Castillo partnered with former Tenneco engineers to form Sierra Engineering, a drilling-completion consulting firm. Mr. Castillo and his partners grew the firm into one of the largest petroleum engineering consulting firms in the U.S. In 2005 Mr. Castillo left Sierra Engineering to found Bold Energy, LP. Bold Energy, LP was sold to Oxy USA in May, 2008 at which time Bold Energy II was formed. Mr. Castillo has a degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University and a degree in Petroleum Engineering from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. He is a 25 year member of the SPE.
 
G. Bryan Dixon, CPA, Vice President Accounting and Chief Financial Officer
G. Bryan Dixon, CPA, Vice President Accounting and Chief Financial Officer Mr. Dixon began his career in 1988 as an internal auditor in both the governmental and the private sectors. In 1992 Mr. Dixon joined Southwest Royalties in Midland as Financial Reporting Manager. During his twelve year tenure at Southwest, Mr. Dixon managed the financial reporting functions for eleven corporate entities and thirty oil and gas limited partnerships including the consolidated reporting to Southwest’s financial institutions, partners and the SEC. Mr. Dixon played a key role in Southwest’s 1997 $200 million public debt offering as well as other multiple public and private equity offerings. He has a broad range of experience in accounting and management of limited partnerships involved in oil and gas asset acquisitions. Mr. Dixon was a founding partner in Bold Energy, LP. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a BBA in Accounting from Texas Tech University.
 
John Worrall, Vice President- Geology
John Worrall, Vice President- Geology Mr. Worrall began his career in 1987 as a geophysicist with Conoco’s Gulf Coast Division. In 1988 he joined Scott Exploration in New Mexico to focus on prospect generation in the PermianBasin. He has over twenty years experience specializing in low-risk prospect identification and exploitation. Mr. Worrall is responsible for the discovery and development of multiple Delaware, Bone Spring, and Morrow fields in Southeast New Mexico and West Texas. Based in RoswellNew Mexico, Mr. Worrall was a founding partner in Bold Energy, LP. He is a 25 year member of the AAPG, a past president of the Roswell Geological Society, and a past Convention Chairman for the Southwest Section of the AAPG. Mr. Worrall has a BA in Geology from RiceUniversity and a Master’s Degree in Geology from the University of Texas.
 
Peggy C. Worthington, CPL, Vice President - Land
Ms. Worthington began her career in 1978 with Maynard Oil in DallasTexas. She held landman positions in East Texas for over ten years. In 1988 she joined ARCO and moved to Midland,Texas in 1989. Ms. Worthington worked the PermianBasin for over ten years with ARCO and eventually served as Land Director. In 2000 Ms. Worthington co-founded Sundial Resources which she sold in 2001. She joined Samson Resources in 2001 as Division Land Manager and opened Samson’s Midland Office in 2002. Ms. Worthington was a founding partner in Bold Energy, LP. She holds a business degree from Arkansas State University. Ms. Worthington has served on the executive committee of the AAPL and PBLA, and she is a member of the IPAA, PBPA, NMOGA, NMLA, PBLA and AAPL.
 
Shannon L. Klier, Operations Engineering Manager
Mr. Klier began his career in 1995 as a field engineer for Dowell Schlumberger in the Anadarko Basin. He became District Engineer for Schlumberger’s pumping service division in the Anadarko Basin, and developed expertise in deep well cementing and well stimulation. Mr. Klier joined Sierra Engineering in 1999 as a completion engineer where he focused on well completions in the Mid-Continent, East Texas, and the Permian Basin. In 2003 Mr. Klier became Sierra’s Project Manager for BP’s drilling-completion projects in the Permian Basin. He joined Bold Energy, LP in April, 2006, and is a partner in Bold Energy II. Mr. Klier earned a BS in Civil Engineering from University of Illinois and received his Professional Engineering registration from the State of Oklahoma in 2002.
 
Donny Money, Production Superintendent
Mr. Money began his career in 1980 as a well service operator in Bridgeport Texas. He held operator positions with well service companies in the PermianBasin from 1983 to 1992. Mr. Money drilled horizontal wells in the Austin Chalk for two years before returning to the Permian Basin in well service operations. In 1998 Mr. Money began supervising production operations and oversaw field and facility development for several startup companies including Falcon Creek and Sapient Energy. In 2004 he was placed in charge of Tom Brown’s (subsequently Encana Oil & Gas) field production operations in the Bossier Sand play in Fairfield Texas. Mr. Money has a great deal of experience in well completions, facility design and construction including compression facilities, pipelines, and gas processing. Mr. Money joined Bold Energy in October 2005, and is a partner in Bold Energy II.
 
Robert Langford - Controller
Mr. Langford began his career in 1976 as an accountant for Forest Oil Corp. in Denver, Colorado. He spent over 15 years with Forest in Denver and in Midland where he oversaw accounting functions for operations in the PermianBasin, Mid-Continent, the Rockies, and Canada. In 1992, Mr. Langford joined Southwest Royalties, Inc. as Accounting Manager where he managed all aspects of operations accounting. Mr. Langford was Controller for Southwest at the time of the acquisition by Clayton Williams Energy in 2004. He remained with Clayton Williams as General Accounting Manager prior to joining Bold Energy in 2007. Mr. Langford is a partner in Bold Energy II. He is also a member of the Colorado chapter of the Council of Petroleum Accountants Society. Mr. Langford has a BBA in accounting from the University of Central Arkansas.
 
Patrick Cohorn, Geologist
Mr. Cohorn began his career in 2005 with Bold Energy, LP as a geologist focused on the Delaware Basin. In 2006 he began working on his Masters Degree in Geology at Oklahoma State University. His thesis involved a 3D seismic analysis of a Bold Energy Delaware Sand prospect in Eddy County, New Mexico. Upon completing his Masters Degree in May 2008, Mr. Cohorn rejoined Bold Energy II. He received a BS in Geology from Sul Ross University.
 
Elise Perkins, Office Manager
Ms. Perkins began her career in 2008 with Bold Energy II in the Midland Office. She is responsible for office function and operations. Ms. Perkins attended Midland College from 2006 to 2008, and she is a graduate of Midland Christian High School.
 
Caroline Gotcher
Ms. Gotcher began her career as a Landman in 2008 focused primarily in the West Texas and New Mexico region. She joined Bold Energy II, LLC in October, 2010. She has an Associates of Science degree from Midland College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M University. She is a member of the AAPL and PBLA.
 
 
Chad Kronkosky, P.E., Reservoir Engineer
Mr. Kronkosky began his career in 2006 as a Petroleum Engineer with ACT Operating Company. During his tenure with ACT, he focused on Permian Basin Waterfloods, Illinois Basin CBM pilot projects, and exploration projects located on the Texas Gulf Coast and Central Kansas Uplift. Mr. Kronkosky joined Bold Energy II in February 2010. Mr. Kronkosky received a BS and MS degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University in 2006 and 2009 respectively. Mr. Kronkosky is a registered Professional Engineer with the State of Texas.
